The Queen Mary 2

During the course of our cruise, we were shadowed by the Queen Mary 2. It is a huge, beautiful ship.

Our last stop was in Newport, Rhode Island. This was another stop where we had to be tendered to and from shore. Here is one of the life boats.

Shelby did really well with the photos. We even got a small smile out of her!

That night was our second formal night and we took more pictures.

The Green Dragon played a part in our nations history. Here is our placemat that details the Green Dragon's history.

At the end of our tour, we stopped at the Green Dragon Tavern for lunch. We had a chance to enjoy the local flavor and a $12 1 1/2 pound Maine lobster.

Here is the statue of Paul Revere. In the distance is the Old North Church.

Our next port was Boston, MA. We went with this guide on a tour along the Freedom Trail. We had a great time and the tour guide was awesome. The weather forecast was upper 60's to low 70's. It actually hit 80 degrees. Not quite the fall weather we had hoped for!

The next day of the cruise, we pulled up to Bar Harbor, Maine, which has no port. The plan was for us to drop anchor and for passengers to be tendered to and from shore using the life boats. The fog prevented us from making it to shore. We spent the day on the boat watching movies, eating and the girls enjoyed the spa. Shelby was eyeing that huge ice cream cone.

The food on the ship was incredible! These poor swan pastries never had a chance!

The weather did not prevent us from enjoying the local culture at the St. John's Ale House.

Here Shelby and Steph enjoy a look at the Bay of Fundy. The water in the bay changes direction and flows upstream once a day.

Our next stop was in St. John, Newfoundland. It was a very foggy day. We took a harbor cruise but, due to the fog, we could not see anything.

Rick and Cathy's balcony offered a great view of the sunset.

Shelby helped herself to the chocolate covered strawberries in our stateroom.

Even though we were out of the country, I found a few things that reminded me of home.

The main attraction in Halifax was Peggy's Cove. This area is a small fishing village. Here Denise and Stephanie are enjoying their morning coffee with the view.

That first night was a formal night. That was awfully nice of the cruise ship making everyone dress up for our anniversary!
