Time to go.

After a week of fantastic food, great service and making memories, it was time to head home. Shelby was getting nostalgic and ready to be home! Thanks for taking the time to enjoy the sights from our trip with us! Posted by Picasa

Baked Alaska

Christian, one of our waiters during the week, brought out the last dessert, the Baked Alaska. Posted by Picasa

Last Dinner

Shelby was enjoying grandma's company. She was also trying to enjoy grandma's pina colada whenever she put it down. Posted by Picasa

Rose Island Lighthouse

This is the Rose Island Lighthouse. It is no longer in operation and has become a tourist attraction. The weather was perfect. They were expecting stormy weather during our excursion but, as you can see, we avoided it. Posted by Picasa

Golden Princess

Here is our ship, the Golden Princess. We were told by the locals that it is normally the big ship. But, with the Queen Mary 2 in town, we suddenly were on the small boat. Posted by Picasa

Incredible Mansion.

We took an excursion out to Rose Island. Along the way, we passed some incredible mansions. This one was used as a vacation home for 6-8 weeks out of the year. I wonder where they live the rest of the year. Posted by Picasa

The Queen Mary 2

During the course of our cruise, we were shadowed by the Queen Mary 2. It is a huge, beautiful ship. Posted by Picasa

Our last stop was in Newport, Rhode Island. This was another stop where we had to be tendered to and from shore. Here is one of the life boats. Posted by Picasa

Shelby did really well with the photos. We even got a small smile out of her!

That night was our second formal night and we took more pictures. Posted by Picasa

Shelby really enjoyed our time in Boston! Posted by Picasa

The Green Dragon played a part in our nations history. Here is our placemat that details the Green Dragon's history. Posted by Picasa

At the end of our tour, we stopped at the Green Dragon Tavern for lunch. We had a chance to enjoy the local flavor and a $12 1 1/2 pound Maine lobster. Posted by Picasa

Here is the statue of Paul Revere. In the distance is the Old North Church. Posted by Picasa

Our next port was Boston, MA. We went with this guide on a tour along the Freedom Trail. We had a great time and the tour guide was awesome. The weather forecast was upper 60's to low 70's. It actually hit 80 degrees. Not quite the fall weather we had hoped for! Posted by Picasa

The next day of the cruise, we pulled up to Bar Harbor, Maine, which has no port. The plan was for us to drop anchor and for passengers to be tendered to and from shore using the life boats. The fog prevented us from making it to shore. We spent the day on the boat watching movies, eating and the girls enjoyed the spa. Shelby was eyeing that huge ice cream cone. Posted by Picasa

The food on the ship was incredible! These poor swan pastries never had a chance! Posted by Picasa

The weather did not prevent us from enjoying the local culture at the St. John's Ale House. Posted by Picasa

Here Shelby and Steph enjoy a look at the Bay of Fundy. The water in the bay changes direction and flows upstream once a day. Posted by Picasa

Here's how thick the fog was. That is our ship in port. Posted by Picasa

Our next stop was in St. John, Newfoundland. It was a very foggy day. We took a harbor cruise but, due to the fog, we could not see anything. Posted by Picasa

Rick and Cathy's balcony offered a great view of the sunset. Posted by Picasa

Shelby helped herself to the chocolate covered strawberries in our stateroom. Posted by Picasa

Even though we were out of the country, I found a few things that reminded me of home. Posted by Picasa
